A Community of Practice (CoP) is a user-led community of stakeholders, from providers to the final beneficiaries of Earth observation data and information, with a common interest in specific aspects of societal benefits to be realized by GEOSS implementation.

Our community is composed of:

- Experts with an interest in the Water-Energy Food Nexus and specialization in one or more of the Water, Energy and Food Sectors

- Experts in Earth Observations and information technologies that could facilitate planning and management for the WEF Nexus.

- Stakeholders with an interest in advancing the WEF Nexus by supporting initiatives with resources and policy frameworks to enable this progress.

- Practitioners, planners, and decision–makers in the fields of water, energy and food

- Representatives of GEO, space agencies, data groups, and international bodies with an interest in the applications of Earth Observations or policies that affect the WEF Nexus.

The WEF Nexus CoP is co-chaired by:

Dr. Pietro Campana (Mälardalen University)

Mr. Richard Lawford (Recently retired from Morgan State University)

In addition to organizing regular meetings, these co-chairs track projects related to the GEO EO4WEF Community Activity and submit program-related reports to the GEO Secretariat; continuously scan the programmatic landscape for information that is beneficial to the Community, and communicating that information to the members.
